How it Happened:

  • The Broncos found a response midway through the 1st, scoring three unanswered goals midway through the quarter to put the Terriers down 1-3.
  • Hamilton closed out the scoring in the 1st with a nice run and finish on net, but the Terriers still trailed 2-3 after 15 minutes of play.
  • Despite generating momentum near the end of the 1st quarter with the goal from Hamilton, the Broncos took control of the 2nd with four unanswered goals, sending the Terriers into the half trailing 2-7.
  • The Broncos continued to pressure the Terriers in the 3rd, scoring a flurry of goals in the opening minutes of the quarter to put the Terriers down double digits.
  • But the Terriers continued to battle, with Jack Morrill finding the back of the net just minutes later to give the Terriers offense some life.
  • SUNY Delhi found an answer late in the 3rd with three goals of their own to extend its lead late.
  • However, the Terriers ended the quarter on a high note, with Hunter Simpson (assisted by Morrill) and Owen Lyons (assisted by Hamilton) each finding the back of the net in the final minute of the 3rd to make it a 5-15 game heading into the final fifteen minutes of play.
  • Hamilton and Nicholas Pike (assisted by Hamilton) continued the battle back for the Terriers midway through the 4th, each finding the back of the net to cut into the Broncos lead midway through the 4th.
  • The Terriers continued to apply pressure late in the 4th with strikes from Hamilton, Simpson (assisted by Charlie Foster-Major), and Morrill, but late goals from the Broncos ultimately put the game out of reach, falling to SUNY Delhi by a final score of 10-17.
