Thomas Triumphant Over Green Mountain

WATERVILLE, ME - The Thomas men's tennis team powered past Green Mountain College for a 9-0 victory in a North Atlantic Conference match-up on Saturday evening.

In doubles match play, the Terriers (8-6, 3-2 NAC) took all three matches over the Eagles (7-2, 3-2 NAC) to get off to a 3-0 lead.

The No. 1 doubles team of Eric Morin and Tyler Small defeated Connor Braden and Nate Berner-Tobin 8-2. The No. 2 doubles team Zachary Disch and Federico Trujillo pulled an 8-6 win over Jack Hepburn and Grey McCampbell. Jonte Roussel and Caleb Cough took down Truman Cressey and Jack Tieman 8-1 in the No. 3 slot to complete the doubles sweep.

Thomas carried that momentum over in to singles play, as the Terriers went on to take all six singles matches and earn the 9-0 team victory.

Morin knocked off Braden in No. 1 singles 7-5, 6-3. Small cruised in No. 2 singles over Berner-Tobin 6-0, 6-1. The No. 3 singles match was won by Disch 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) over Hepburn in the longest match on the day. Cough won the No. 4 singles match by defeating Cressey. Caleb Mora took the No. 5 match 6-2, 6-0 over McCampbell and Joseph Greco won the No. 6 match 6-0, 6-1.

Thomas will return to the courts on tomorrow, April 19 to take on MCLA in their final match of the regular season. Scheduled start time is 1:00 PM.
