POULTNEY, VT – Dakota Duplissie and Max Hansson each scored twice while Tre Ming scored once and assisted on two other markers as the Thomas College men's soccer team defeated Green Mountain College 8-1 on Sunday afternoon at Eagles Game Field.

Thomas (5-2-1, 2-0-1 NAC) notched its first marker in the 11th minute on a pretty passing play. Rasmus Loso and Tre Ming pinged the ball forward to London Steede-Jackson who beat the Eagles' keeper high from just beyond the yard box.

Duplissie scored both of his markers in the first half, the second of which helped extend the lead to 4-0 as he scored on a breakaway deftly avoiding a charging keeper before depositing his shot into the back of the net. The two goals give the senior forward a NAC leading eight on the season.

Ibrahim Moustapher scored his first of the year just before half to give the Terriers a comfortable 5-0 halftime lead.

Thomas would extend the lead to 7-0 by goals from Hansson and Jeffrey Nagy before GMC's Matt Kukola tapped home a loose ball in front of the net spoiling the shutout. Hanson then scored his second of the game to close out the scoring on the afternoon.

Yoakim Sternas earned his first victory of the season for Thomas while making three saves. GMC's Griffin Shelor made eight saves in the loss.

The Terriers will return home to challenge intown rival Colby College in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday night at 7:30pm.
