BEVERLY, MA – The Terriers were able to put the OT loss from yesterday behind them, blanking SUNY Purchase 3-0 on Saturday afternoon in a non-conference men's soccer match in the Endicott Invitational. Three different members of the squad were able to find the back of the net in the first victory of the season. Tre Ming recorded his first goal as a Terrier, while Dakota Duplissie and Michael Hand replicated their performance from yesterday with a tally a piece.

Ming started the scoring early for Thomas 11 minutes into the first half off a free kick from ten yards out to sneak past Purchase goalkeeper Esteban Aguilar. The Panthers were held to only two shots on the half while the Terriers posted nine.

Purchase came out firing in the second half posting five shots on goal. Both goalkeepers were able to keep the second half scoreless until the 60th minute when Duplissie was able to control the cross by Hand to fire the ball into the right corner to put Thomas up by two. 17 minutes later the Terriers were able to score a security goal from a cross completed to Hand who scored into the top right corner off a header.

Purchase would not leave quietly however, in the final minutes they were able to keep goalkeeper Mikkail Crockwell busy when junior Junior Sanguina fired a shot on the open net but Crockwell was able to make the diving stop the keep the Panthers off the board. In the final minutes the sophomore Myles Clohessy worked to put Purchase on the board with a quick shot in front of the net but Crockwell was able to make the kick save to keep his shut out alive.

With the goal, Hand has scored in the first two games of the season for consecutive years, doing so in the previous year against University of New England and Saint Joseph's to kick off the 2012 campaign.

The Terriers had three members named to the All-Tournament team which included Crockwell, Hand,  and Duplissie.

Thomas returns to the pitch Wednesday, September 4 when they travel to Standish, Maine and take on the Monks of Saint Joseph's. The Terriers battled SJC last season in Waterville to a 2-2 double OT draw that saw Thomas come back from a 2-0 deficit.
