Box Score BEVERLY, MA – Thomas was unable to create an overtime thriller in their 2013 debut, falling to William Patterson 3-2 in overtime at the Endicott Invitational Tournament Friday afternoon. Michael Hand scored the first goal of the season at the 6:11 minute - the first of the game.
William Patterson responded however at the 19:45 minute with a strike that found its way over Mikkail Crockwell's head. The Pioneers took their first lead of the match just seconds before the opening half came to an end on a header by Aken Pierre that was crossed into the box.
The Terriers played catch up until the 63rd minute when Dakota Duplissie buried the ball in the top left corner off a feed from Tre Ming to bring the game to a 2-2 deadlock.
Three minutes into overtime the Pioneers sealed the victory from a shot by Jason Padilla that found the top right of the twine for the dramatic finish to the season opener.
William Patterson outshot Thomas 20-10 and held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Thomas will conclude their opening weekend tomorrow in the Endicott Invitational. Match time scheduled for 1pm.
