Terriers Rout Eagles 5-1 on Senior Day

WATERVILLE, ME- Thomas responded from a heartbreaking overtime loss yesterday to defeat Green Mountain 5-1 on senior day.

The Terriers wasted little time before notching the first goal of the match. Josh Phelps crossed the ball into the box finding the head of Kenny Cano to put Thomas up 1-0 after just three minutes. Four minutes later, Guled Guled found the back of the net on a through ball from John Freese.  Play continued to be back and forth for most of the half until Michael Hand found the foot of Christian Guzman who beat the keeper to the left. Thomas went into the half with a 3-0 lead.

Six minutes into the second half, Michael Hand added another goal to the board for Thomas on an assist from London Steede-Jackson. Green Mountain's Mike Ellis found the back of the net at 58:57, beating the keeper to the post. The Terriers notched a goal at 72:26, when Guled Guled played the ball from midfield finding Kusow Aden at the top of the box, beating the keeper near side.

Joakim Sternas made two saves on three shots. Mikkail Crockwell and Shaquile Trott each faced one shot and had one save. Green Mountain keeper, Matt Kukola, ended the contest with six saves on 11 shots.

Thomas awaits their final seeding in the NAC playoffs.
