Box Score WATERVILLE, ME- The Thomas men's soccer advanced to the NAC Semifinals with a convincing 4-0 victory over eighth-seeded Green Mountain College on Saturday afternoon, setting up a rematch with Maine Maritime Academy, who beat the Terriers in last season's NAC Quarterfinals on penalty kicks.
The Terriers used a balanced offensive attack to put the Eagles away as four different players' netted goals. The first goal came just over six minutes into action, as Kenny Cano (Lowell, Mass.) dribbled past an opponent and put it into the back of the net to give Thomas a 1-0 lead. Five minutes later, Dakota Duplissie (Hampden, Maine) was able to shake a defender and fire a shot into the net for a 2-0 advantage that would hold up into the half.
In the second half, Khamisi Lightbourne (Sandy's, Bermuda) would put Thomas up 3-0 when he was able to keep a defender off and score to add more insurance. The Terriers would strike once more as Zachary Ward (Wakefield, R.I.) would put in his first collegiate goal.
Thomas held a 20-7 shot advantage over Green Mountain and controlled the play for most of the match. Terrier goalkeepers Mikkail Crockwell (St. David's, Bermuda) and Winston Trott (Pembroke, Bermuda) combined for three saves. Nate Kishbaugh (Niskayuna, N.Y.) recorded four saves in the effort for the Eagles.
The Terriers will look to advance to the NAC Championship game on Tuesday, as they will host fourth-seeded Maine Maritime Academy.
