Terriers Blank Green Mountain

Waterville, Maine—The Thomas College Men's Soccer team shut out North Atlantic Conference foe Green Mountain College 4-0 Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field. Sophomore Andrei Nogueira led the Terriers with a goal and an assist.

With the win the Terriers improve to 6-4 (2-3 NAC) while the visiting Eagles fall to 1-8-1 (1-3 NAC).

The Terriers took the lead early when sophomore Michael Hand finished a pass from freshman Dakota Duplisse just a minute and 30 seconds into the half.  Approximately eight minutes later sophomore Kyle Rabe would tally for the second Terrier goal.

The Terriers relentless offensive attacks resulted in their third goal in the waning moments in the half when Nogueira connected a pass from freshman Andrew Lary at the 43:13 mark.  The Terriers defense stood strong not allowing any Eagles shots in the first half.

The Terriers lead 3-0 at the half.

In the second half both the Terriers and the Eagles shot 9 times.  The final tally of the game occurred at 89:26 when freshman Kyle Jandreau netted his first collegiate goal off of a pass from Nogueira. 

Sophomore goal keeper Mikkail Crockwell recorded two saves, the win, and his sixth clean sheet of the season.  Despite a seven save effort Nate Kishbaugh shoulders the loss for the Eagles.

The Terriers face off at home against NAC foe Castleton tomorrow at 2 p.m. The Eagles return to action at the University of Maine at Farmington at 2:15 p.m.
