Thomas Falls in NCAA First Round

Middlebury, Vt. - The Thomas College Men's Soccer Team amazing season ended in the NCAA First Round today on the campus of Middlebury College as the Terriers fell to the Pioneers of William Paterson University 2-1. William Paterson will move on to face Middlebury on Sunday.

Thomas faced a relentless William Paterson attack as the Terriers got out shot 12-4; but it was the Terriers who struck first when Freshmen Dence Manguda (Portland, ME) finished a Dylan Keller (Freedom, ME) assist in the 31st minute.

At halftime the scoreboard read 1-0 Thomas.

William Paterson continued their strong attack in the second half and finally hit pay dirt when Julian Valerio hit the back of the net off of an Anthony Ferrer assist in the 49th minute. The Pioneers struck again for the go ahead goal in the 61st minute with a Kene Eze goal.

Thomas made a strong effort to tie in the last five minutes of regulation, but just couldn’t hit the goal and when the time ran out the Terriers story book season had reached it's end.

Freshmen Goal Keeper Mikkail Crockwell (Bermuda) had four saves in the loss.
