Waterville, ME - Baseball earned two key conference victories against the Lesley University Lynx at home on Tuesday, April 28th, 2026. The final scores were 2-1 and 7-0. Game one was a thrilling defensive battle, eventually leading to a walkoff sacrifice fly from
Hayden Dippner that scored
Grady Hotham.
How it Happened:
Game One: 2-1 Win (7 Innings)
- The scoring started in the second inning, when the Lynx were able to capitalize on an error that scored a run to make it 1-0.
- While the Terrier bats went cold for the next few innings, Terrier pitcher Ian Libby was making quick work of the Lynx batters, earning several strikeouts over that time.
- Libby's excellent pitching got the Terriers to the bottom of the seventh inning without giving up any more runs, still at 0-1.
- Soon after two fielding errors and a walk saw the Terriers have a bases-loaded opportunity to score.
- A walk from Evan Nadeau scored Gavin Clark, tying the game at one with one out.
- Hayden Dippner, the next batter, send a deep fly ball to center field, and Grady Hotham was able to score from the sacrifice fly, giving the Terriers a thrilling 2-1 walkoff win against the Lynx.
- While the walkoff sealed the win, Libby's superb pitching down the stretch played a huge part in the game.

Game Two: 7-0 Win (7 Innings)
- The Terriers continued on their pace from game one, taking a lead in the bottom of the second inning.
- A double from Nadeau and an error from the Lynx saw the Terriers take a 2-0 lead.
- Soon after a single up the middle from Gus Hollen scored Nadeau, making it 3-0.
- Tasked with the start in game two, Brody Walsh was dominant all game long, especially so in the first few innings to keep the Lynx off the scoreboard.
- The Terriers struck again in the bottom of the fourth inning thanks to DJ Cagnina drawing a walk that scored Nadeau to make it 4-0.
- To wrap up the game the Terriers added three more runs in the sixth after several pitching changes from the Lynx.
- A double to deep left field from Cagnina brought home Nadeau, then a single from Bryce Bardwell scored both Cagnina and Dippner to make the game 7-0.
- Walsh was able to complete the game on the mound, pitching all seven innings, allowing just six hits with one walk and an incredible eight strikeouts to help the Terriers earn a 7-0 win.

- Baseball will be back in action on Saturday, May 2nd, when they take on the University of Maine Fort Kent at home in a doubleheader. Start times are scheduled for 12:00 PM and 2:30 PM.
