Softball Cruises to Two Conference Wins Against VTSU Johnson

Johnson, VT - Softball opened up their weekend trip to Vermont with two important conference wins against VTSU Johnson. Game one ended in a 14-3 win, and game two was a 5-2 win on Saturday, April 25th, 2026.

How it Happened:

Game One - 14-3 Win (6 Innings)
  • The Terriers set the tone immediately in the first inning when Maeve Hickok launched a 2-run home run, scoring Leah Knight and giving Thomas a quick 2–0 lead.
  • In the second inning, Thomas kept the pressure on after aggressive baserunning led to another run as Carlie Jarvais stole home.
  • Abby Farone added an RBI double soon after, scoring Morgan Duhaime.
  • Brooklyn Federico followed up and drove in a run on a groundout bringing home Farone.
  • By the end of the second, the Terriers held a commanding 5–0 lead.
  • VTSU Johnson battled back in the third inning when two-run double cut into the lead, eventually making it 5-3.
  • The Terriers blew the game open in the sixth with an overwhelming offensive outburst.
  • Farone, Megan Oberholzer, Hickok, Jennie Whitten, and Carlie Jarvais all earned RBI to make the score 13-3.
  • Pitcher Lillian Noyes was excellent all day for the Terriers, closing out the game and earning a season high 14 strikeouts in the win.

Game Two - 5-2 Win (7 Innings)
  • VTSU Johnson struck first in the opening inning with a two-run home run, putting Thomas behind 2–0 early.
  • The Terriers chipped away at the lead over the next few innings.
  • In the third, Federico delivered an RBI single, scoring Duhaime to get Thomas on the board.
  • In the fourth, a sacrifice fly from Emily Rock, tied the game at 2–2, scoring Oberholzer.
  • Thomas took control in the sixth inning with a decisive rally.
  • Whitten came through with a 2-RBI single, scoring Bella Medeiros and Knight giving the Terriers their first lead of the game.
