Baseball's Offense Leads Team to Doubleheader Victories Against UMF

Farmington ME - Baseball was able to utilize their high-powered offense to defeat the University of Maine Farmington Beavers in an away doubleheader on Tuesday, April 14th, 2026. The final scores were 15-2 and 10-7. The team earned a combined 35 hits across both games, an impressive offensive feat.

How it Happened:

Game One - 15-2 Win (7 Innings)
  • The Beavers started off with the lead, scoring in the bottom of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead.
  • The Terriers would follow up with three combined runs in the third and fourth inning.
  • An error then a single from Jeremy Spencer brought home Ajay Rychcik and Gus Hollen to make it 2-1, then a double from Dippner soon after made it 3-1.
  • The Beavers would get a run back in the bottom of the fourth, but the Terrier offense would click after the inning.
  • In the fifth inning the Terriers scored five runs, thanks to RBI from Hollen, Spencer, Grady Hotham, and DJ Cagnina, to make it 8-2.
  • The Terriers would continue this pace in the sixth inning, this time with RBI from Spencer, Griffel, Aidan McMahon, and a home run from Cagnina to extend the lead to 14-2.
  • To wrap up game one the Terriers added one more run in the top of the seventh, thanks to an RBI from Aidan McMahon to make the final score 15-2.
  • All three pitchers that saw the mound for the Terriers were dominant, with Brody Walsh, Tyler Cantey, and Gage Eggleston combining for only four hits allowed all game.

Game Two - 10-7 Win (7 Innings)
  • Game two started with a pitchers duel, with Ian Libby not allowing any runs in the first three innings.
  • The Beavers struck first in game two, scoring three in the bottom of the fourth inning.
  • However, the Terriers were able to bounce right back, scoring four in the top of the fifth thanks to a grand slam from Rychcik that make it 4-3.
  • The Terriers would continue this pace in the sixth inning, with a double from Hotham and a single from Griffel that scored a combined three runs, making it 7-3.
  • In the bottom of the sixth the Beavers would tack on a run, but it wasn't enough.
  • Heading into the final inning both teams would score three runs a piece, with the Terrier runs coming courtesy of another Cagnina home run, a single from Hollen, and a wild pitch to make the final score 10-7.
  • Libby would do enough to earn another win for the Terriers on the mound, moving to 3-2 this season after allowing six earned runs and striking out four batters across all seven innings.
