Waterville, ME - Baseball delivered a strong conference performance at home, pulling away for a 9–5 win over the Husson University Eagles in game one, then following up with a 5-3 win to complete the sweep of the day on Sunday, April 12th, 2026. Prior to game one, Thomas College President Dr. Jennine Uzzi threw out the ceremonial first pitch to highlight the team's first home games of 2026.
How it Happened:
Game One: 9-5 Win (7 Innings)
- Husson jumped out to an early lead, scoring in both the first and second innings to go up 2–0.
- The Terriers responded quickly in the bottom of the second, sparked by a solo home run from Ajay Rychcik.
- The Terriers continued to apply pressure, tying the game on an RBI walk from Hayden Dippner, scoring Gavin Clark and taking a 3–2 lead after aggressive baserunning led to Gus Hollen scoring on a passed ball.
- Husson answered in the third with a three-run inning to reclaim a 5–3 advantage, but Thomas had another response ready.
- The Terriers exploded in the fourth inning, as Dippner delivered a clutch two-RBI single, scoring Hollen to tie the game before Rychcik drew an RBI walk, scoring Dippner to give Thomas a 6–5 lead.
- In the fifth inning Patrick Temby drove in Hollen on a fielder's choice, followed by a sacrifice fly from Jeremy Spencer, scoring Grady Hotham to extend the lead to 8–5.
- The Terriers added one more in the sixth on a sacrifice fly from Gus Hollen, scoring Rychcik and providing insurance to seal the win in game one.
- Andrew Rapoza was excellent to close out game one, pitching the final four innings and only allowing three hits.

Game Two: 5-3 Win (7 Innings)
- Husson struck first in the opening inning with a two-run home run to take an early 2–0 lead.
- The Terriers responded in the third inning, capitalizing on opportunities to tie the game.
- Soon after Rychcik drove in Adam Lafond after being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.
- Clark followed with a sacrifice fly, scoring Spencer to even the score at 2–2.
- The Terriers took the lead for good in the fourth inning when Hotham advanced on a defensive miscue and came around to score, giving the Terriers a 3–2 advantage.
- Later the fifth inning Rychcik picked up another RBI with a sacrifice fly, scoring Cagnina.
- After shutting out the Eagles in the top of the sixth thanks to stellar pitching from Ankit Shah, the Terriers looked to add some insurance runs.
- In the bottom of the inning Temby was able to find home plate from a wild pitch to extend the lead to 5-2.
- In the seventh Jordan Craft was tasked with closing out the game, doing so successfully.
- Craft didn't allow any hits despite the Eagles scoring one run, making the final score a crucial 5-3 victory.
