Softball Earns Two Thrilling Home Conference Wins Against SUNY Delhi

Waterville, ME - Softball earned two thrilling conference wins against conference foes SUNY Delhi at home on Sunday, April 12th, 2026. The final scores were 2-0 and 3-2 in two defensive battles. 
 
How it Happened:

Game One: 2-0 Win (7 Innings)
  • The Terriers struck early, scoring both of their runs in the second inning.
  • Carlie Jarvais got things started with an RBI single, bringing home Maddy Morris and giving Thomas the early lead.
  • Shortly after, Leah Knight put pressure on the defense, reaching on an error that allowed Jarvais to score and extending the lead to 2–0.
  • From there, Thomas relied on steady defense and composed pitching to hold SUNY Delhi scoreless for the remainder of the game.
  • The Terriers controlled the pace throughout, limiting scoring opportunities and protecting their early lead.
  • Terrier pitcher Lillian Noyes came up clutch multiple times in a dominant pitching display, pitching seven scoreless innings while only allowing five hits.

Game Two: 3-2 Win (7 Innings)
  • The Terriers wasted no time getting on the board in the first inning.
  • Maeve Hickok continued her strong day at the plate with an RBI double to right center, scoring Megan Oberholzer giving Thomas an early 1–0 lead.
  • After several scoreless innings, SUNY Delhi broke through in the sixth, using a two-RBI triple to take a 2–1 lead and shift the momentum.
  • Thomas responded immediately in the bottom half of the inning.
  • Hickok delivered again in a clutch moment, ripping her second double of the game to drive in Corinne Vasvary, and Oberholzer to put the Terriers back in front, 3–2.
  • From there, Thomas held strong defensively to close out the win and secure the sweep.
  • The pitching combo of Oberholzer and Noyes proved valuable, as Oberholzer only allowed two earned runs in six innings pitched, and Noyes coming in clutch in the top of the seventh inning to earn a save.

  • Softball will be back in action this coming Wednesday as they take on Lesley University in a doubleheader in Cambridge, Massechusetts. The first pitch of game one is at 2:00 PM, and the first pitch of game two being at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, April 15th, 2026.
