Softball Earns Win Against Earlham College in Spring Trip Day Three Doubleheader

Bartow, FL – Softball earned their third win of the season on their annual spring trip, facing off against Penn State Behrend and Earlham College on Monday, March 9th, 2026. The final scores were 2-10 and 9-4.

How it Happened:
 

Game One: 2-10 Loss VS Penn State Behrend

  • The Terriers got on the board first in the opening inning after Mackenzie Toner reached on a fielder's choice that scored Brooklyn Federico, making it 1–0.
  • Abby Farone followed up with a single to left field that brought home Megan Oberholzer, extending the lead to 2–0.
  • Later in the inning the Lions fought back, scoring three runs to take a 3-2 lead.
  • Neither team was able to score in the next few innings thanks to some solid defense and pitching.
  • In the bottom of the third the Lions scored three runs, capitalizing off of a few errors to make it 6-2.
  • Four more runs from the Lions in the bottom of the fourth saw them take a 10-2 lead, handing the Terriers a loss.

Game Two: 9-4 Win VS Earlham College
  • The Terriers got on the board first, this time in the second inning.
  • A single from Carlie Jarvais scored Emily Rock and Farone to make it 2-0.
  • Morgan Duhaime followed up with a triple to right field that scored Jarvais.
  • Singles from Federico and Jennie Whitten continued the Terrier scoring in the second inning, extending the lead to five runs.
  • In the third inning a stolen base from Rock caused a fielding error, which Farone was able to capitalize on to score.
  • A sacrifice fly from Jarvais in the next at bat scored Rock, making it 7-0.
  • Earlham struck back with four runs in the fifth inning, but it wouldn't be enough to take the lead.
  • A single from Morris and a double from Oberholzer in the sixth inning scored two more runs, giving the Terriers a 9-4 win.
  • Terrier pitcher Lillian Noyes was excellent all game, earning seven strikeouts and just one earned run in seven innings pitched.

  • Softball will continue their spring trip when they take on Carroll University and Washington College (Md.) in Winter Haven, FL, at 2:00 PM and 6:30 PM on Tuesday, March 10th, 2026.
