Hebert and Desimone Push Terriers to 82-67 Conference Win Over Lesley

Waterville, ME - Men's Basketball picked up it's seventh North Atlantic Conference win of the season at home on Saturday, February 7th, defeating Lesley University by a final score of 82-67. Nate Hebert and Jayden Desimone helped fuel the Terriers' offense off the bench in the win over the Lynx, finishing with 23 and 18 points, respectively.

How it Happened:
  • The Terriers claimed an early 8-4 lead in the opening minutes of the 1st half thanks to Brady Adams, Isaiah Godley, and Payton Mitchell.
  • But the Lynx soon found pace, knotting the game at 8-8 shortly afterward.
  • A Jayden Kim three pointer, along with strong finishes in the paint from Mitchell and Yasmo Mohamud, helped extend the Terriers lead to seven points in the ensuing minutes.
  • The Lynx looked to chip away at their deficit midway through the 1st half, but made buckets from Desimone, Mohamud, and DeNash Davis kept the momentum with the Terriers.
  • Hebert and Desimone continued to pace the Terriers' offense late in the half, each converting baskets to extend the Terriers' lead to 35–21 with minutes remaining in the half.
  • Despite late points from the Lynx, a Jayden Kim layup and a Desimone three-pointer sent the Terriers into halftime with a 45-35 lead.
  • The Lynx looked to regain the momentum in the opening minutes of the 2nd half with quick points, but made buckets from Kim and Isaiah Godley got the Terriers back on track minutes later.
  •  A small scoring run from the Lynx cut the Terriers lead to just five points midway through the 2nd half.
  • But the Terriers found a response, completing a crucial 10-3 run thanks to Desimone and Hebert to make it a 66-55 game with 7 minutes remaining in regulation.
  • Hebert took over the Terriers offense late in the 2nd half, knocking down three consecutive three-pointers to extend the Terriers lead to 18 points.
  • The Lynx continued to chip away at their deficit in the final minutes of the second half, but the Terriers controlled the closing moments to secure an 82–67 North Atlantic Conference victory.
