Men's Basketball Rolls to 80-61 NAC Win Over Lesley University

Cambridge, MA - Men's Basketball picked up its fifth win of the season on Wednesday, January 7th, defeating the Lesley University Lynx in a North Atlantic Conference tilt by a final score of 80-61. The win over the Lynx improves the Terriers overall record to 5-8 on the season and 4-2 in North Atlantic Conference play.

How it Happened:
  • The Terriers would claim the momentum from the opening tip, jumping out to an early 9-4 lead thanks to TJ Blackmon, Isaiah Godley, and Payton Mitchell.
  • But the Lynx would find a response minutes later, knotting the game up at 9-9.
  • Mitchell, Blackmon, and Jayden Desimone would continue to facilitate the offense midway through the 1st half, each contributing in a 14-4 scoring run to put the Terriers ahead 25-13.
  • The Lynx would cut the Terriers lead to just ten points late in the 1st half, but back to back buckets from Nate Hebert and DeNash Davis would keep the momentum in the Terriers hands.
  • The Terriers would outscore the Lynx 12-8 in the final minutes of the 1st half, and would head into halftime with a 44-30 lead.
  • Yasmo Mohamud, Isiah Corson, and Blackmon would keep the Terriers rolling to start the 2nd half, each knocking down key buckets to keep the momentum going.
  • Both the Terriers and Lynx would trade points in the following minutes, but back-to-back finishes in the paint from Corson and Desimone shortly after would extend the lead to eighteen points.
  • Corson and Desimone would continue to dominate on the offensive end, combining for nine quick points to give the Terriers a 65-44 lead late in the 2nd half.
  • Despite the Lynx late comeback efforts, the Terriers would ultimately take control of the remaining minutes of the half, earning a 80-61 North Atlantic Conference road win over Lesley.
