Bangor, ME - Men's Basketball traveled to Bangor, Maine to face Husson University in a North Atlantic Conference match-up on Friday, January 16th, but was unable to withstand a strong second-half surge by the Eagles, falling by a final score of 63-107.
How it Happened:
- Both the Terriers and the Eagles would battle for the momentum in the opening minutes of the 1st half, but buckets from Isiah Corson and Brady Adams would give the Terriers an early 5-4 lead.
- But the Eagles would battle back in the following minutes, completing a small scoring run to put the Terriers down 7-10.
- The Eagles would extend their lead to double digits midway through the 1st half, but points from Nate Hebert and TJ Blackmon would help get the Terriers back on track.
- Corson, Adams, and Isaiah Godley would give the Terriers offense life late in the 1st half, combining for 11 points in three minutes to make it a 28-32 game with just over a minute remaining in the half.
- Godley would close out the half with a made jumper, but the Terriers would still find themselves down 30-36 heading into the half.
- The Eagles would come out of the half hot, completing a 13-5 run in the opening minutes of the 2nd half.
- Godley and Blackmon would continue to chip away at the Terriers deficit in the following minutes, but another scoring run from the Eagles would make it a 39-72 game with 13 minutes remaining in regulation.
- The Terriers would continue to battle shortly after, completing a 9-3 run minutes later thanks to buckets from Blackmon, Hebert, and Jayden Desimone.
- Ibrahim Doumboya, DeNash Davis, and Cole Perkins would continue to create scoring opportunities for the Terriers late in 2nd half, combining for 9 quick points.
- But despite the Terriers best efforts, the Eagles would ultimately control the remainder of the contest and hand the Terriers a 63-107 North Atlantic Conference loss.
