Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Women's Basketball Falls Short to Husson in NAC Battle

Bangor, Maine - Women's Basketball traveled to Bangor, Maine to take on Husson University in a North Atlantic Conference battle on Friday, January 16th. Despite trailing just two point in the final two minutes of regulation, the Terriers would ultimately come up short, falling to the Eagles by a final score of 57-69.

How it Happened:
  • The Terriers offense would claim the early momentum with quick buckets from Elena Alderman and Pryelle Kesse-Beda, but the Eagles would find pace shortly after with a scoring run of their own.
  • Holly Loring and Kesse-Beda would help reclaim the lead for the Terriers mid-way through the 1st quarter with five combined points.
  • The Terriers closed the 1st quarter with a 7-2 scoring run thanks to Kesse-Beda, Kay McLellan, and Roxy Dagostino, giving the Terriers a 17-13 lead after ten minutes of play.
  • The Eagles would reclaim the lead early in the 2nd, but a Dagostino three-pointer and back-to-back made jumpers from Kaya Loring would keep the momentum with the Terriers.
  • Kesse-Beda continued to fuel the Terriers offense midway through the 2nd with key buckets, but a small scoring run from the Eagles would make it a 26-23 game late in the quarter.
  • But strong defense and late points from Kesse-Beda and McLellan would send the Terriers into the half with a 32-29 lead over the Eagles.
  • Both the Terriers and the Eagles would trade points to open the 3rd quarter.
  • But a small scoring run by the Eagles midway through the third quarter shifted the momentum back in Husson's favor.
  • Dagostino, McLellan, and Kesse-Beda would combine for 11 points in the final minutes of the 3rd, but the Terriers would find themselves trailing 45-48 heading into the 4th quarter.
  • The Eagles would extend their lead in the opening minutes of the 4th quarter, but key buckets from Alderman and McLellan would keep it a one possession game minutes later.
  • Clutch free throws from K. Loring and Deja Hamilton tied the game at 53–53 midway through the fourth quarter, but the Eagles responded shortly after to reclaim the lead.
  • A clutch Hamilton three-pointer and made free throw from Kesse-Beda would make it a two point game with just over two minutes remaining in the game.
  • But the Eagles would ultimately run away with the game in the final minute of play, completing a late scoring run to hand the Terriers a 57-69 North Atlantic Conference road loss -- their first loss since December 6th of 2025.
