Men’s Soccer Falls to Western New England University

Waterville, ME – Men's Soccer fell in a home matchup against the Western New England University Golden Bears on Sunday, September 7th, 2025. The final score was 0-2.
 
How it Happened:
  • The Golden Bears started the game well, forcing three saves from Jamie Fischer in the first 15 minutes.
  • The Terriers earned their first shot of the game in the 31st minute, a shot from Shafi Ibrahim that went just wide.
  • Fischer was forced to make another save just before halftime, keeping it 0-0 after 45 minutes.
  • Two shots from David Ivarsson and Kevin Segura to start the second half both went wide, while a Golden Bear shot a minute later was blocked.
  • In the 58th minute a shot from Daud Abdi forced a save from the Golden Bears goalkeeper.
  • 10 Minutes later the Golden Bears scored after a rebounded ball found an attacker's foot, giving them a 1-0 lead.
  • In the 74th minute Fischer made an incredible diving save, denying a chance on goal that looked like it was headed to the top left corner.
  • Despite the Terriers' best efforts, the Golden Bears struck again in the 78th minute, making it 2-0.
  • A late push in the attacking third from the Terriers wasn't enough, and the team eventually fell 0-2.
