Men’s Soccer Earns 4-1 Win in NAC Championship Rematch

Waterville, ME – Men's Soccer earned a 4-1 win against the SUNY Delhi Broncos on Saturday, September 13th, 2025, in a rematch of the 2024 NAC Championship.
 
How it Happened:
  • The Terriers started off the day on a roll, with Shafi Ibrahim and Daud Abdi assisting a goal from Jeremiah Gomez to make it 1-0.
  • 12 Minutes later Serafin Garcia sent a long ball to David Ivarsson, who found Ibrahim, who slotted the ball in the Bronco net to make it 2-0.
  • The Broncos began to turn up the intensity, forcing a save from Jamie Fischer a few minutes later.
  • Neither team earned any clear-cut opportunities for the remainder of the half, and the Terriers went into halftime up 2-0.
  • Two minutes into the second half the Broncos responded with a goal of their own, cutting the Terrier lead to one.
  • Both teams battled for possession over the next 20 minutes, with a goal line clearance from Tre Burgess denying a Bronco chance.
  • In the 72nd minute Andrew Hodgins found Shafi and sent a through ball to Harry Clough.
  • Clough was able to chip the Bronco goalkeeper, scoring to make it 3-1.
  • In the 76th minute the Terriers were awarded a penalty kick, and Ibrahim placed the ball perfectly in the bottom left to make the score 4-1.
  • The Terriers continued to apply pressure, with several shots forcing saves from the Broncos goalkeeper.
  • A burst of opportunities from Hodgins in the last minute saw the Broncos goalkeeper make another good save, and the game ended shortly after in a 4-1 win for the Terriers.
