Field Hockey Earns Dominant 4-0 Win Against Rivier

Nashua, NH – Field Hockey traveled to take on the Rivier University Raiders on Sunday, September 7th, 2025. The final score was a dominant 4-0 victory for the Terriers.
 
How it Happened:
  • The Terriers started off the game on a roll, dominating both ends of the field.
  • In the first five minutes the Terriers earned three penalty corners but weren't able to capitalize.
  • The next best chances came with three minutes remaining in the first, when two shots from Samantha Thebarge and Caroline Hendrickson went just wide of the Raider goal.
  • The Terriers didn't allow a single shot or penalty corner to the Raiders in the first quarter, an impressive feat.
  • With less than a minute left in the first Kara Richards had her shot sail just outside of the Raider goal.
  • Less than a minute into the second quarter the Terriers got on the board, with Celia Stinson scoring her first collegiate goal to make it 1-0.
  • Stinson struck again four minutes later, this time with an assist from Caroline Hendrickson, making it 2-0.
  • With six minutes remaining in the quarter Paige Gilbert found Richards, who scored to increase the Terrier lead to three.
  • Neither team was able to score in the remaining time in the second quarter, and the Terriers went into halftime with a comfortable lead.
  • Early in the third quarter Terrier goalkeeper Abbie Law was called into action, making a save on a Raider shot to preserve the shutout.
  • The Terriers continued to dominate in the second half, not allowing the Raiders to do much with the ball.
  • Leah Knight would add to the lead with under two minutes remaining in the third, with an assist coming from Thebarge.
  • Despite the lead the Raiders continued to work into the fourth quarter, generating several penalty corner opportunities.
  • Ultimately the Terrier defense remained strong, not allowing any good looks on goal in the fourth quarter – earning a dominant 4-0 win.
