Waterville, ME - Men's NIRSA Club Soccer hosted the University of New England Club Soccer squad on Sunday, September 28th, with
Gabriel Dominicci netting two goals to lift the Terriers to a 2-0 victory over the Nor'easters.
How it Happened:
- The Terriers and Nor'easters would each generate multiple attacking opportunities early in the match, yet neither could find the finishing touch.
- The Terriers attack would draw a foul inside the box midway through the first quarter, with the referee signaling for a penalty kick.
- Dominicci would take the penalty kick for the Terriers and would capitalize to make it a 1-0 game.
- The Terriers would close out the first half with a 1-0 lead over the Nor'easters.
- UNE would look to even the match throughout the second half but strong efforts from the Terriers defense would help keep the Nor'easters off the scoreboard.
- The Terriers would put the match out of reach in the final minute of the second half, with Remy Claeys slipping a brilliant through ball to Dominicci, who powered it past the UNE keeper to help seal the 2-0 victory over the Nor'easters.
- Keein Wright would get the start in net for the Terriers, with Beyden Stratton entering the game to start the second half. Both keepers would finish the contest with a save apiece.
