9/14/2025 7:23:00 PM

Waterville, ME - Terriers NIRSA Competitive Club Men's Soccer would battle the University of Maine-Orono Black Bears Club Soccer Team at home on Sunday, September 14th, taking a 2-0 shutout victory for their second consecutive win of the season.

How it Happened:
  • Both the Terriers and the Black Bears would try to generate attacking opportunities throughout the first half, but neither team would be able to find the back of the net.
  • But a late first half goal from first year Boje Kautz would put the Terriers ahead 1-0 heading into halftime.
  • The Terriers would extend their lead midway through the second half, with Kautz finding the back of the net for the second time of the night off an Akim Johnston assist.
  • UMaine would try to generate some momentum late in the second half, but a strong performance from the Terriers defense would shutdown the Black Bears in the remaining minutes of the match, and would give the Terriers a 2-0 shutout win.
  • Impressive performances from Terrier goalkeepers Keein Wright and Beyden Stratton would play a key role in the shutout victory, finishing the contest with 9 combined saves.

What's Next:
  • The Terriers will look to extend their two-game win streak on the road, taking on the Colby College Club Soccer Team on Wednesday, September 17th. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 PM at Colby College.
