Field Hockey Earns Dominant 7-1 Win Against Gordon College

Waterville, ME – Field Hockey earned a dominant 7-1 win against Gordon College on Tuesday, September 23rd, 2025. Tatiana Roque would lead all scorers with two goals.
 
How it Happened:
  • The Terriers wasted no time on attack to start the game, with Kara Richards forcing the Gordon goalkeeper to make a good save less than a minute in.
  • Nearly five minutes in the Terriers found the breakthrough when Leah Knight found Roque, who scored to make it 1-0.
  • Six minutes later Paige Gilbert sent in a long pass that found the stick of Richards, who buried the ball in the cage to make it 2-0.
  • With less than a minute to go in the first quarter Knight scored off of a deflection from a Gordon defender to give the Terriers a comfortable 3-0 lead headed into the second.
  • Three minutes into the second quarter Samantha Thebarge had a good look at goal from a penalty corner, but her shot was saved.
  • A scramble in the box after the rebound led to a Gordon foul, and Thebarge was able to convert the penalty stroke to make it 4-0.
  • With six minutes left in the second quarter a rebound after a good save found the stick of Maci Freeman, who scored to make it 5-0.
  • Jaiden Williams followed up with a goal after a good pass from Gilbert to make it 6-0 heading into halftime.
  • The Terriers continued their dominance into the third quarter, but it was Gordon who scored from a penalty corner to make it 6-1.
  • The Terriers nearly scored again with two minutes remaining in the quarter, but Thebarge's shot hit the post and a rebound from Freeman was blocked.
  • Heading into the fourth quarter the Terrier defense remained strong, not allowing any opportunities for Gordon.
  • The final goal of the night came with three minutes remaining, when Richards found Roque, who scored her second goal of the night to give the Terriers a 7-1 win.

  • Field Hockey will be back in action when they travel to take on Husson University on Saturday, October 4th, 2025. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
