Baseball Advances to NAC Championship Finals Matchup Against Husson

Bangor, ME – Baseball split day two of the NAC Championship Tournament after falling to Husson University 0-4, then winning 6-3 against Lesley University later in the day. This means the team advances to the NAC Championship final matchup against Husson. Due to the tournament's double elimination rule, the Terriers will have to secure two straight wins against the Eagles to claim the NAC trophy. The Eagles will only need to win one game to claim the NAC trophy. It is important to note the Terriers won three straight games against the Eagles in the regular season. These game(s) will take place on Sunday, May 11th, 2025. First pitch is set for 11:00 AM.

How it Happened:

Game One – 0-4 Loss VS Husson
  • Both teams began the day with a pitchers' duel, with Jarrad Willette and the Eagles pitcher making quick work of most batters through the first few innings.
  • Neither team had good opportunities to score in the first five innings, but that changed in the sixth.
  • The Eagles opened the sixth inning with a single run making it home after a single.
  • In the next inning the Eagles struck again, scoring another run to make it 0-2.
  • Singles from Samuel Keblinsky and Jason Bartlett in the bottom of the seventh inning led to a bases loaded situation.
  • Despite the bases loaded situation, the Terriers were unable to capitalize.
  • Relief pitcher Justin Conn made quick work of the Eagles in the eighth inning, but the Eagles scored two more runs in the top of the ninth to make it 0-4.
  • The Terriers couldn't much together in the bottom of the ninth inning, leading to a 0-4 loss.
  • Despite the loss, Willette played well - striking out 10 batters and only had two earned runs.

Game Two – 6-3 Win VS Lesley
  • Game two of the day was very similar to the first, with both pitchers, including Ankit Shah, engaged in a pitching duel.
  • Neither team scored until the sixth inning, where the Lynx took the lead briefly after a sacrifice fly made it 1-0.
  • The Terriers responded with an RBI from Matt Seymour and a single from Hayden Dippner to make it 2-1.
  • Neither team scored again until the eighth inning, where the Terriers took command of the game.
  • Bartlett doubled to right center and Cam Haynes also doubled, combining to score four total runs, making it 6-1.
  • The Lynx nearly found a way back into the game after scoring two runs, but Andrew Pruell made an appearance to secure the final two outs, earning the Terriers a 6-3 win.

  • Baseball will be back in action in the final round of the 2025 NAC Baseball Tournament, taking on the Husson University Eagles in Bangor, ME.
