Baseball Splits with Owls in Day Two of Six-Game Series

Waterville, ME – Baseball traveled to play games three and four of a six game series against the University of Maine Presque Isle Owls on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025. The final scores were a 21-9 win and a 5-6 loss.

 
How it Happened:
 
Game One: 21-9 Win
  • Both teams struggled to swing the bats early on, with neither team scoring until the third inning.
  • Samuel Keblinsky doubled, Patrick Temby singled, and Ben Seguin hit a home run, all in the third inning, to make it 4-0.
  • The Terrier offense exploded in the fourth, scoring a total of 14 runs in the inning.
  • The highlights included a Hayden Dippner home run, a Keblinsky home run, and singles from Elijah Morton and Tony Meza to make it 17-0.
  • The Owls responded in the bottom of the inning with three runs, making it 17-3.
  • The Terriers continued their form in the fifth and sixth innings, with Jeremy Spencer and Javier Diaz both earning RBI to make it 21-3.
  • The Owls earned six runs in the seventh inning, making the final score 21-9.

Game Two: 5-6 Loss
  • Game two started similarly to the first, with neither team scoring until the third inning.
  • The Owls took the lead, scoring several runs in the third inning to make it 3-0.
  • The Terriers responded in the next inning with singles from Jason Bartlett and Morton that scored three runs, tying things 3-3.
  • To build on the fourth inning, the Terriers scored two more runs thanks to Aaron Young and Keblinsky to take a 5-3 lead.
  • The Owls then shifted the momentum, scoring two to tie things at 5-5 in the fifth inning, then scoring again in the sixth inning.
  • Despite the Terriers' best efforts, the Owls held the Terriers scoreless in the final few innings, leading to a 5-6 loss.
