Young Earns 100th Career Hit as Baseball Sweeps Owls

Waterville, ME – Aaron Young earned his 100th career hit as baseball won their final two home games of the season against the University of Maine Presque Isle. The final scores were 13-0, and 9-1 on Thursday, May 1st, 2025.
 
How it Happened:

Game One: 13-0 Win
  • The Terriers had the bats swinging early, with Tony Meza, DJ Cagnina, and Samuel Keblinsky all bringing runs home to eventually make it 5-0.
  • In the second inning Cam Haynes and Cagnina both singles to score two additional runs, making it 7-0.
  • Patrick Temby scored thanks to some good baserunning in the third, while Keblinsky scored another run in the fourth to make it 9-0.
  • In the fifth inning Hayes reached first on an error, scoring Meza to make it 10-0.
  • Matt Seymour would hit a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning, and Hayden Dippner hit a double to make it 12-0.
  • Cagnina finished off the scoring for game one with a sacrifice fly in the seventh, making the final 13-0.
  • Andrew Pruell was excellent again today on the mound, only allowing four hits in six innings while striking out nine batters.

Game Two: 9-1 Win
  • Haynes opened up game two with a single that scored Meza and Morton to make it 2-0.
  • Neither team would score until the fourth inning, when Jandre Rivera-Caraballo sent a two-run home run past the left field fence to make it 4-0.
  • The Owls would get on the board as a result of an error to make it 1-4.
  • In the sixth inning Jason Bartlett would drive home another run, making it 5-1.
  • Also in the sixth inning Aaron Young would earn his 100th career hit in a single to left field.
  • In the seventh inning Haynes earned a sacrifice fly, while Keblinsky and Bryce Bardwell both hit doubles to make it 9-1.
  • Ankit Shah would make quick work of the Owls after coming in for Jarrad Willette in the bottom of the seventh inning to end things at 9-1.
