Bangor, ME – Baseball swept the Husson University Eagles in dramatic fashion in two Friday night away contests on April 25
th, 2025. The final scores were 7-4 and 4-3. Before these matchups, Husson was 10-0 in conference play and now falls to 10-2, while the Terriers now sit at 8-4.
How it Happened:
Game One:
- Both pitchers, including Jarrad Willette, came out of the gate well, with neither team scoring until the third inning.
- The Eagles got on the board first in the third, scoring two runs.
- The Terriers responded with a huge fifth inning thanks to several big hits.
- Elijah Morton sent a single to center field that scored Patrick Temby.
- Tony Meza followed up with a sacrifice fly that scored Matt Seymour.
- Cam Haynes rounded out the inning with a monster double to right field that scored Morton and Hayden Dippner, making it 4-2.
- The Eagles fought back to eventually tie things at 4-4, meaning the Terriers would play an extra inning.
- Haynes came up clutch, hitting another double, this time down the left field line that scored Meza and Morton to make it 6-4.
- DJ Cagnina followed up with a single that scored Haynes to make it 7-4.
- With the Eagles primed for another comeback in the bottom of the inning, Andrew Pruell stepped on the mound to defend the lead.
- Pruell forced a fly out to Dippner, then struck out the next two batters to help secure the win in game one, 7-4.

Game Two:
- Game two began slow, but the Eagles earned the game's first run in the bottom of the second inning after a sacrifice fly.
- Meza was able to respond with a single to right center field that scored Matt Seymour to make it 1-1.
- The Terriers added two more runs in the fifth inning, thanks to another Meza single and a walk to Cagnina to make it 3-1.
- A walk to the Eagles in the bottom of the inning made it 3-2.
- Another walk with bases loaded in the sixth inning scored Meza, making it 4-2 headed into the closing stages of the game.
- Once again, the Eagles were able to respond with another run, this time from a single to make it 4-3.
- With Pruell called upon yet again to close out the game, he delivered, with the Terriers earning the final two outs of the game from a double play to complete the sweep.
