How it Happened:

Game One

  • Layla Pickering would follow up with a single that scored McLinden to give the Terriers an early 4-0 lead.
  • Oberholzer was then able to make quick work of the Polar Bears in the bottom of the first inning, only facing three batters to continue the Terrier momentum.
  • Abby Farone opened up the second inning with a double, and was able to use her speed to reach third base after an ensuing ground out to set up a scoring chance.
  • Despite the runner on third the Terriers were unable to capitalize, keeping things at 4-0.
  • The Polar Bears got on the board in the bottom of the third inning after an error, and as a result had bases loaded with two outs.
  • Despite the tough situation, Oberholzer was able to strike out the next batter to keep things at 4-1.
  • Two singles from the Polar Bears in the bottom of the fourth inning scored three runs, tying things at 4-4.
  • The next runs came in the sixth inning, as the Polar Bear offense exploded to score six runs, making it 4-10.
  • In the top of the seventh inning Pickering was able to drive home Kayla Duhaime, but the Terriers ultimately came up short with a final score of 5-10.
