Terriers Sweep the Beavers in Home Doubleheader

Waterville, ME – The Terriers faced off against the University of Maine Farmington in a home doubleheader on Monday, April 14, securing two wins, 8-5 and 1-0.
Records:
  • Thomas College: Overall (9-12), NAC (2-0)
  • University of Maine Farmington: Overall (5-11), NAC (0-2)
 
Game 1: Thomas 8, Farmington 5
How it Happened:
  • Thomas came out strong, scoring three runs in the first inning. Mackenzie Toner, Kayla Duhaime, and Teresa McLinden each drove in runs.
  • Farmington responded in the third inning, taking a 4-3 lead.
  • The Terriers reclaimed the lead in the fourth, with doubles from Brooklyn Federico and Maddy Morris, followed by an RBI single from Megan Oberholzer.
  • After Farmington tied it 5-5 in the sixth, Thomas rallied in the bottom of the inning with key hits from Morris, Oberholzer, and Toner to secure the 8-5 win.
  • Farmington couldn't score in the seventh, sealing the Terriers' victory.

  • In the sixth inning, Farmington nearly scored, but a diving catch by center fielder Abby Farone kept the game tied.
  • Thomas broke through in the bottom of the seventh with Federico reaching on a walk. Farone then reached on an error, advancing Federico to third. A hard-hit ball by Morris forced a Farmington error, scoring Federico for the walk-off win.
