Waterville, ME – Thomas College Softball faced Saint Joseph's College (ME) in a doubleheader at Colby College on Saturday, March 22nd. The Terriers secured a 5-1 win in game one but fell 0-9 in game two.

How It Happened:
- The Monks got on the board early with a solo home run to left field in the first inning by their #3 batter.
- In the bottom of the fourth inning,Senior Kayla Duhaime started with a single to left field, followed by Megan Oberholzer's single to right field. Teresa McLinden loaded the bases, allowing Maeve Hickok to bring Duhaime home. Layla Pickering then hit a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Oberholzer and giving the Terriers a 2-1 lead.
- St. Joe's threatened in the fifth inning but left two runners stranded on base.
- In the bottom of the fifth, Thomas added another run. Abby Farone singled to left, and Carlie Jarvais followed with a double to move Farone to third. Oberholzer hit a hard grounder to third, bringing Farone home.
- The Terriers extended their lead in the sixth inning as Brooklyn Federico, Maddy Morris, and Carlie Jarvais each singled, driving in two more runs to seal the final score at 5-1.

- Maeve Hickok went 2-for-3 at the plate with 1 RBI.
- Five different Terriers contributed to the scoring.
- Megan Oberholzer pitched a complete game, striking out four, allowing one walk, and giving up five hits.
Game 2: St. Joe's 9, Thomas 0
How It Happened:
- Thomas started strong defensively, a the Terriers retired three batters in quick succession in the first inning.
- In the bottom of the first, Carlie Jarvais, Megan Oberholzer, and Maeve Hickok hit singles to load the bases, but the Terriers couldn't capitalize.
- St. Joe's broke the deadlock with a run in the second inning after a double to left-center field.
- Thomas struggled offensively in the next two innings, giving the Monks momentum for a big fourth inning where they scored seven runs on six hits and one error.
- In the bottom of the fourth, Mackenzie Toner pinch-hit for Hickok and hit a double to left field, but Thomas couldn't convert it into a run.
- St. Joe's added their final run in the fifth inning, closing the game with a 9-0 victory.
