Waterville, ME – Men's Basketball was outmatched by the University of Maine Fort Kent Bengals on Saturday, February 15
th, 2025. Prior to the beginning of the game, the team honored seven seniors:
Luke Gabloff,
Loki Anda,
Jackson Ruelke,
Camryn Yorke, Jacob Bouchard,
Parker Desjardins, and
Teresa McLinden.
Thomas College: Overall (7-15), NAC (4-8)
University of Maine Fort Kent: Overall (11-12)
How it Happened:
- The Bengals opened up the game with a 7-3 lead, but points from Jackson Ruelke and Parker Desjardins tied things up at seven soon after.
- The Bengals responded with a 10-2 run, but a three from Camryn Yorke and points from Luke Briggs began to chip away at the Bengal lead.
- Despite the positive few minutes, the Bengals went on another run, scoring nine straight points to make it 26-14.
- Briggs was effective late in the first half, scoring several points to help the Terriers attempt to battle back.
- Parker Desjardins scored the final points of the first half, laying the ball up to make it 27-38 at the break.
- The Bengals extended their lead early in the second half, despite a successful three-point shot from Jacob Bouchard.
- With 15 minutes left, the Bengals extended their lead to 18 points, 50-32.
- Briggs and Yorke combined to score the next few Terrier points, but the Bengals continued to match the Terriers.
- Two straight three pointers from Desjardins and Yorke cut the Bengal lead to 10 with nine minutes to go.
- Both teams went on a 6-0 run in the next few minutes, but a tough jump shot from the Bengals with four and a half minutes left made it 73-56.
- Bouchard came up with an impressive block and then a difficult layup in the final few minutes, but it wasn't enough as the Terriers fell 62-79.
