Waterville, ME – Men's Basketball was unable to complete a comeback at home against the University of Maine Presque Isle on Sunday, February 16
th, 2025.

How it Happened:
- The Terriers started off the game shooting well, jumping out to an early 14-8 lead thanks to multiple points from Parker Desjardins and Spencer Minihan.
- Four straight points from Camryn Yorke and a three-point shot from Luke Briggs ensured the Terriers kept the lead 10 minutes in, 23-16.
- Despite the Terrier lead, the Owls kept calm and slowly started to chip away through the closing minutes of the second half.
- Jackson Ruelke scored the six of the final eight points of the half for the Terriers to make it 39-36 at the break.
- The Owls eventually took the lead four minutes into the second half, despite four quick points from Minihan.
- With 12 minutes remaining in the second half the Owl lead grew to 10 points, 65-55.
- Slowly but surely, the Terriers began to mount a comeback attempt over the next few minutes.
- Four straight points from Desjardins made it a two-possession game with nine minutes to go.
- A 6-2 run from the Terriers with five minutes left made it 76-80, but the Owls continued to hang on.
- With a minute remaining Briggs was fouled on a difficult layup and made the resulting free throw to make it 83-84.
- A final shot attempt from the Terriers came up just short, and the Owls walked away with an 88-85 win.
- With the final game of the season over, Men's Basketball will look to build upon this year's result headed into next season.
