How it Happened:
  • Kay McLellan would claim the early lead for the Terriers in the opening minutes of the 1st quarter with a shot made beyond the arc.
  • Pryelle Kesse-Beda would keep the Terriers offense going midway through the 1st with a strong finish in the paint, but made buckets from the Mariners shortly after would tie the game up at 5-5.
  • But the Terriers closed the final minutes of the first quarter with 11 combined points from McLellan, Roxy Dagostino, and Kaya Loring, taking a 16-13 lead after one quarter of play.
  • Dagostino and Loring would keep the Terriers rolling early in the 2nd with quick buckets.
  • A strong defensive half from the Terriers and the Mariners would keep both teams off the board midway through the 2nd.
  • But a layup made by McLellan in the final seconds of the quarter would send the Terriers into the half with a 21-17 lead.
  • Both teams would continue to battle for the lead to open the 3rd quarter, but buckets from McLellan and Loring would help keep the lead in the hands of the Terriers.
  • The Mariners would reclaim the lead midway through the 3rd, but points from Elena Alderman and Brooklyn Calder would put the Terriers back in front shortly after.
  • The Terriers would close the final minutes of the 3rd quarter with 9 points, but a strong offensive showing from the Mariners would tie the game up at 38-38 heading into final ten minutes of regulation.
  • Pryelle Kesse-Beda would look to generate momentum for the Terriers early in the 4th with a quick bucket in the paint.
