Women's Basketball Rolls to Third Straight Win in VTSU Johnson Matchup

Johnson, VT - Women's Basketball traveled to take on Vermont State University-Johnson in a North Atlantic Conference match on Tuesday, December 2nd 2025, defeating the Badgers by a final score of 60-47. Elena Alderman would lead all scorers with 18 points in the win over the Badgers, guiding the Terriers to their third consecutive win.

How it Happened:
  • The Terriers would jump out to an early 8-2 lead in the 1st quarter thanks to quick points from Alderman, Emily Hagerty, and Deja Hamilton.
  • Alderman and Hagerty would keep the Terriers offense midway through the 1st, but a late scoring run from the Badgers would make it a 15-13 game minutes later.
  • But a late layup from Holly Loring and converted free-throws by Mykey Avni would send the Terriers into the 2nd quarter with a 19-13 lead.
  • The Terriers would extend their lead to 12 points in the opening minutes of the 2nd quarter, completing a quick 6-0 scoring run thanks to Alderman, Pryelle Kesse-Beda, and Brooklyn Calder.
  • The Badgers would cut into their deficit midway through the 2nd quarter, but buckets from Alderman and Kesse-Beda minutes later would keep the Terriers lead to double-digits.
  • Despite a scoring run by the Badgers in the final minutes of the quarter, the Terriers would head into the half with a 31-26 lead.
  • Hagerty would open the 3rd quarter with a three-pointer, but the Badgers would find a response with a scoring run of their own to cut the Terriers lead to just two points.
  • The Terriers would respond right back midway through the 3rd quarter, completing a 9-0 run to reclaim a double-digit lead.
  • The Terriers would close out the 3rd quarter with buckets from Hamilton and McLellan to make it a 47-35 game with 10 minutes to play.
  • Both teams would get off to a slow start in the fourth quarter, but Alderman and Roxy Dagostino would keep the momentum in the hands of the Terriers with key buckets minutes later.
  • Alderman and Hagerty would take over the Terriers offense midway through the fourth quarter with 7 combined points, extending the Terriers lead to 20 points with just under 3 minutes to play.
