Hallowell, ME - Men's Ice Hockey earned an incredible 3-2 comeback win against Bates College at home on Friday, November 7th, 2025. The Terriers found themselves down 0-2 with seven minutes remaining in the game, but were able to show grit and determination to come back and win 3-2, stunning the Bobcats.
How it Happened:
- Both teams traded shots to start, but the Bobcats tested Terrier goaltender Toby Hopson to start.
- With five minute remaining in the first period the Bobcats found the opener, finding the back of the net to make it 0-1.
- The Terriers began to play much better in the second period, forcing the Bobcat goaltender to make several saves.
- Despite the opportunities the Bobcats struck again, doubling their lead four minutes into the second period.
- Neither team would score in the remainder of the period, with the Terriers looking to chip away at the 0-2 scoreline.
- Heading into the third period the Terriers began to shift the momentum and got plenty of pucks on net.
- With seven minutes remaining in the game Nick Fischetto found Tyler Gay, who scored to make it 1-2, giving the Terriers a lifeline.
- Just two minutes later Ian McClatchy found Caleb Micklon, who scored the game's tying goal.
- Using that momentum, McClatchy had an opportunity to win the game with under a minute remaining.
- His shot found the top shelf with 57 seconds remaining, completing an incredible comeback much to the delight of the home crowd.
- The final score was 3-2, with the Terriers scoring all their goals in the final seven minutes.
