Thebarge Earns 100th Point in Field Hockey’s 7-0 CMCFHC Semifinal Win VS UMF

Waterville, ME – Samantha Thebarge earned her 100th career point in Field Hockey's dominant 7-0 win against the University of Maine Farmington in the Central Maine Collegiate Field Hockey Conference Semifinals on Friday, November 7th, 2025.
 
How it Happened:
  • The Terriers wasted no time – 50 seconds in Kara Richards dribbled between several defenders and found the back of the cage to make it 1-0.
  • Two minutes later Maci Freeman found Samantha Thebarge from a penalty corner to double the Terrier lead.
  • The Terriers continued to dominate, forcing several saves from the Beaver goalkeeper.
  • In the remainder of the first quarter the Terriers had several more chances and a hit post but couldn't capitalize, taking a 2-0 lead into the second.
  • Both teams battled for the ball in the midfield in the second quarter, with neither team having any clear chances until the final minute.
  • A shot from Richards in the last three minutes and two powerful shots from Thebarge were all either wide or saved, giving the Terriers a 2-0 lead headed into halftime.
  • Just 31 seconds into the third quarter Thebarge found Kara Richards, who scored to make it 3-0.
  • The Terriers followed up six minutes later with another goal, this time Freeman finding Richards to make it 4-0.
  • With five minutes remaining in the third quarter Tatiana Roque was able to weave through several Beaver defenders and scored to give the Terriers a 5-0 lead.
  • The Terriers closed out the third quarter with another goal, with Freeman finding Thebarge again to make it 6-0.
  • Heading into the fourth quarter the Terriers continued to dominate both offensively and defensively.
  • Several more shots on goal eventually led to a good pass from Thebarge that found Paige Gilbert, who scored to cap off a stellar night for the Terriers.
  • Thebarge's assist meant she had reached 100 collegiate points for the Terriers, an incredibly impressive feat.
  • The Terriers ended the night with a dominant 7-0 complete win, not allowing the Beavers a single shot.

  • With the win, Field Hockey advances to the 2025 Central Maine Collegiate Field Hockey Championship Game against #1 seed Husson University on Sunday, November 9th, 2025. Game time is scheduled for 12:00 PM at Husson University.
