Waterville, ME - Women's Basketball would earn their second straight win with a 66-52 victory over Colby-Sawyer College on Monday, November 24th.
Pryelle Kesse-Beda and
Roxy Dagostino led the way offensively for the Terriers, fueling the Terriers victory with a combined 31 points against the Mustangs.
How it Happened:
- Elena Alderman would get the Terriers offense going early, scoring back to back buckets to open the contest.
- The Terriers and the Mustangs would both trade points midway through the first quarter, but strong buckets from Kesse-Beda and Alderman shortly after would give the Terriers a 1 point lead.
- A 6-2 run to close the first quarter thanks to Alderman, Dagostino, and Mykey Avni would send the Terriers into the second quarter with a 18-13 lead.
- Avni would continue the momentum into the 2nd, scoring 5 quick points to open the quarter to extend the Terriers lead to 23-13.
- The Mustangs would look to cut into the Terriers lead midway through the 2nd, but points from Dagostino and Kesse-Beda would keep the Terriers lead to double digits.
- Despite another small scoring run by the Mustangs to close out the 2nd, Deja Hamilton and Kesse-Beda would close the half with key buckets, sending the Terriers into the half with a 35-25 lead.
- A three-pointer from Dagostino and strong bucket in the paint from Alderman would keep the Terriers offense rolling in the opening minutes of the third quarter.
- The Terriers would extend their lead to 12 points midway through the 3rd quarter with back to back buckets from Kesse-Beda.
- But a strong offensive surge by the Mustangs to close the 3rd quarter would make it a 48-43 game heading into the final ten minutes remaining in regulation.
- Brooklyn Calder and Emily Hagerty would open the 4th quarter with 4 quick points extend the Terriers lead back up to 9 points.
- Hagerty and Kaya Loring would keep the momentum in the hands of the Terriers midway through the 4th, scoring back-to-back buckets to make it a 57-43 game with 5 minutes to play.
- The Mustangs would cut their deficit to just 7 points in the final minutes of play, but a 9-0 by the Terriers shortly after would put the game out of reach, giving the Terriers their second consecutive win with a 66-52 win over Colby-Saywer.
