Waterville, Maine - Women's Basketball hosted the University of Maine Presque Isle in a North Atlantic Conference match up on Saturday, November 22nd, picking up a statement victory over the Owls by a final score of 83-41. Pryelle Kesse-Beda and Roxy Dagostino would lead the Terriers offense in the win over the Owls with a combined 35 points.


How it Happened:

• The Owls would claim the early lead to start the 1st quarter, but points from Holly Loring and Kesse-Beda would put the lead back in the Terriers hands.
• The Terriers would extend their lead midway through the 1st quarter, completing a 11 point run thanks to Kesse-Beda, Loring, and Elena Alderman.
• Two made free-throws from Kay McLellan to close 1st would send the Terriers into the 2nd quarter with an 18-10 lead.
• Kesse-Beda, Kaya Loring, and Sarah Davis would keep the Terriers rolling in the second, opening the quarter with six quick points to extend the Terriers lead to 15 points.
• The Terriers would continue to build on their momentum late in the 2nd quarter, with Emily Hagerty, Deja Hamilton, Dagostino, and Alderman each knocking down buckets with minutes remaining in the half.
• A strong defensive half from the Terriers would force 21 first half turnovers, sending them into the half with a 48-20 lead.
• The Terriers would continue to build on their lead to open the 3rd quarter, extending their lead to 29 points thanks to Alderman, Hagerty, and (Holly) Loring.
• Dagostino would take over the Terriers offense midway through the third quarter, scoring 12 consecutive points to give the Terriers a 66-28 lead.
• Mykey Avni and (Holly) Loring would close the 3rd quarter with 7 quick points to put the Terriers ahead 73-30 with 10 minutes to play.
• Despite being outscored by the Owls in the final quarter of regulation, the Terriers would ultimately take control of the remainder of the match to secure an 83-41 North Atlantic Conference win.
• A strong defensive showing would play a large role in the Terriers win over the Owls, forcing 35 turnovers as a team, while scoring 41 points off turnovers.
