Men's Basketball Unable to Find Response to Colby in Elm City Classic

Waterville, ME - Men's Basketball hosted Colby College in the Elm City Classic on Wednesday, November 19th, but would ultimately fall to the Mules by a final score of 73-96.

How it Happened:
  • Isiah Corson would get the Terriers on the board first with quick three-pointer in the opening minute of the game.
  • But four consecutives three-pointers from the Mules shortly after would put the Terriers down 3-12.
  • Buckets from Corson, Jayden Desimone, and Faron Cureton out of a Thomas timeout would get the Terriers back on track, cutting the Mules lead to just three-points minutes later.
  • The Mules would extend their lead once again midway through the first half, but two made free throws from Yasmo Mohamud and a tough finish in the paint by Payton Mitchell would make it a 16-22 game.
  • The Terriers would find themselves down double digits late in the first half after another scoring run from the Mules.
  • Despite a strong shooting performance from the Mules in the first half, strong defense from TJ Blackmon and 3 consecutive three-pointers from Nate Hebert would put the Terriers down 37-51 to close the half.
  • Cureton and Blackmon would get the Terriers offense going in the second half, combining for seven quick points.
  • Hebert would cut the Terriers deficit to 10 points midway through the 2nd half with his fourth made three of the game.
  • But the Mules would reclaim the momentum minutes later with another scoring run to make it a 58-76 game.
  • The Terriers would continue to battle late in the second half with points from Cole Perkins and Corson.
  • But the Mules would ultimately take control of the remainder of the game, handing the Terriers a 73-96 loss in the Elm City Classic.
