Waterville, ME - Women's Basketball traveled to Colby College on Saturday, November 15th, taking on Wellesley College in their first game of the Gene Lorenzo Tip Off Tournament. The Terriers would fall to Wellesley by a final score of 50-69.


How it Happened:

• Pryelle Kesse-Beda would get the Terriers on the board early in the first quarter with a strong bucket in the paint, but Wellesley would jump out to a 2-8 lead minutes later.
• But the Terriers would close out the first quarter with the momentum, completing a 14-2 to claim a six point lead heading into the second quarter.
• Wellesley would cut into their deficit early in the second quarter, but points from Mykey Avni on consecutive possessions shortly after would help the Terriers maintain a 19-16 lead.
• The Terriers would extend their lead minutes later with a 7-0 scoring run thanks to Loring, Kesse-Beda, and Sarah Davis.
• But a strong effort on both ends of the court from Wellesley would make it a 29-28 game heading into halftime.
• Kesse-Beda and Elena Alderman would get the Terriers offense going early in the third with four quick points.
• But the Terriers would find themselves down 33-40 minutes later after a 12-0 scoring run from Wellesley.
• Alderman, Kesse-Beda, and Kay McLellan would cut into the decfict by knocking down key shots late in the third quarter, but the Terriers would trail Wellesley 44-43 heading into the fourth quarter.
• The Terriers would reclaim the lead early in the fourth, with Roxy Dagostino converting an and-one in the to make it a 46-44 game.
• But Wellesley would flip the momentum of the game moments later with a large scoring run.
• Despite the Terriers efforts in the final minutes of the game, Wellesley would hand the Terriers a 50-69 loss in their first match up of the Gene Lorenzo Tip Off Tournament.
