Alderman and Roberts Lead Women’s Basketball to 69-41 Conference Win over Hornets

Lyndonville, VT – Terrier's Women's Basketball would pick up a North Atlantic Conference win against the Vermont State University Lyndon Hornets by a score of 69-41 on Saturday, January 11th. Elena Alderman and Mariah Roberts would combine for 28 points against the Hornets and would help lead the Terriers to back-to-back conference wins.

How it Happened: 

  • The Hornets would answer back midway through the first quarter, but points from Gray and Holly Loring would keep the momentum going for the Terriers. 

  • Pryelle Kesse-Beda would close the first quarter with a strong finish in the paint to give the Terriers an 11-7 lead heading into the second quarter. 

  • The Terriers extend their lead to twelve points early in the second quarter thanks to points from Alderman, Hana Isahac and Sky Kubwalo. The Hornets would cut the Terriers lead to single digits late in the second quarter, but late points from Alderman and Pena would give the Terriers a 29-21 lead at halftime.

  • Roberts would get the Terriers offense going in the start of the second half, hitting back-to-back three-pointers to give Thomas a 14 point lead early in the third.

  • The Hornets would continue to chip away at the Terriers lead with a 6-0 run midway through the third quarter, but Alderman and Roberts would respond quickly, combining for 11 points in the final minutes of the third quarter to put the Terriers up 46-31 heading into the fourth quarter.

  • The Terriers would look to keep the game out of reach in fourth, with Alderman and Loring quickly combining for seven points in the first few minutes of the quarter.
  • The Terriers would dominate the fourth quarter on both ends of the floor, outscoring the Hornets 23-10 to give Thomas their second consecutive North Atlantic Conference win.
