Eight Different Terriers Score in Huge Road Win Versus Gordon College

Wenham, MA – Eight different Terriers found the back of the net as Field Hockey won big by a score of 12-0 on the road against Gordon College. The Terriers put together an all-around dominant team performance in the huge win on Thursday, September 5th, 2024.

How it Happened:  
  • The Terriers opened up the scoring early, as Kara Richards scored two minutes in to give the Terriers the lead.
  • Eight minutes in the Terriers struck again as Callie Moran found Samantha Thebarge, who scored to make it 2-0.
  • With six minutes remaining in the first quarter Thebarge found Molly Littlefield, who scored to make it 3-0.
  • This was followed three minutes later by a goal from Tatiana Roque, who was assisted by Leah Knight.
  • The Terriers outshot the Fighting Scots 21-0 in the first quarter, scoring four goals in that time.
  • With five minutes remaining in the half the Terriers scored three goals in less than two minutes, thanks to two from Hilary Howard and one from Knight.
  • The Terriers went into halftime up 7-0 and looked to continue their dominance in the second half.
  • Four minutes into the third quarter Avery Herrick scored an unassisted solo goal to make it 8-0.
  • Julia Reny had six shots on goal in the quarter, all of which were saved by the opposing goalkeeper to keep the score at 8-0 going into the fourth.
  • The Terriers made the most of their chances in the fourth quarter to close things out as goals came from Richards, Reny, and Thebarge to complete a dominant 12-0 win over the Fighting Scots.

 
Inside the Stats:  
  • The Fighting Scots did not register a single shot or penalty corner throughout the entire game thanks to some superb overall defense from the Terriers.
  • The Terriers had an incredibly impressive 49 shots throughout the entire game, 39 of which were on target.
