Jason Bartlett hit a walk-off single to cap off a huge comeback effort against the Vermont State University Lyndon Hornets on Monday, April 29
th, 2024. The final score was 7-6 in the final meeting between these teams this season.

How it Happened:
- The Hornets started the game well, jumping out to a 3-0 lead over the Terriers in the second inning.
- The Terriers looked primed to score in the bottom of the second. Samuel Keblinsky and Matt Seymour both singled, but the Terriers eventually left three runners on base to end the inning.
- The Hornets added two more runs in the top of the third inning, taking a sizable 5-0 lead.
- Neither team could get much going in the next few innings, and the Hornets still held their lead going into the bottom of the sixth.
- DJ Cagnina singled up the middle to bring home Tony Meza in the bottom of the sixth, making it 1-5.
- Shortly after Seymour reached first base on a fielder's choice, and brought home Lucas Harmon to make it 2-5.
- Despite the comeback bid from the Terriers, the Hornets added one more run to make it 6-2 going into the final half inning.
- In the bottom of the seventh Meza singled to left field, and Bartlett was able to score off of an error to cut the Hornet lead to three runs.
- Javier Diaz and Cagnina both singled to score two more runs, and all of a sudden the Terriers had momentum.
- Diaz was able to capitalize moments later and scored on a passed ball thanks to some good baserunning to tie things up at six a piece.
- Seymour, the next batter, was intentionally walked that created a bases loaded situation with one out, and the score tied 6-6.
- Eventually Bartlett stepped up to bat with bases loaded and two outs. Bartlett drove a hard-hit single to center field that beat a diving shortstop to bring home the winning run.
- The Terriers were able to complete their comeback bid and won in thrilling fashion 7-6 thanks to some strong hitting in the final few innings.
