Davenport, FL – The Cougars of Chatham University pulled away from the Terriers in a nine-inning thriller, 3-5. This game served as the sixth of nine games played in the RussMatt Invitational at various locations in Florida.

How it Happened:
- The Terriers started the game well, taking the lead in the first inning despite not getting any hits.
- Hayden Dippner and Tony Meza walked, while a wild pitch meant they both advanced to the next base. Matt Seymour brought home Dippner thanks to an error by the Cougars to take a 1-0 lead.
- Neither team would score again until the top of the third inning, when the Cougars struck back.
- A home run and a single meant the Cougars took the lead by a score of 1-2.
- The Cougars would tack on another run in the fourth inning thanks to a sacrifice fly.
- The Terriers would fight back in the bottom of the fifth inning, once again scoring with no hits in the inning – thanks to four walks and a passed ball.
- In the top of the sixth inning Jarrad Willette came into the game to pitch and struck out the first three batters he faced to keep the Terriers within one run.
- In the bottom of the seventh inning Dippner sent a monster triple into the outfield, and shortly after a single from Seymour brought home Dippner to tie the game 3-3.
- Both teams remained in the stalemate until the top of the ninth inning, when the Cougars scored two runs to take a 5-3 lead over the Terriers.
- The Terriers were unable to score in the bottom of the ninth, and the final score ended in a 3-5 loss for the Terriers.
