Worster’s Strong Performance Falls Short in 12-9 Loss to Salem State

Waterville, Maine – Thomas Men's Lacrosse were defeated by the Salem State Vikings in a close matchup by a score of 12-9 on Wednesday, March 20th. 

Records:  
Salem State: Overall (4-2) 
Thomas: Overall (0-3) 
 

How it Happened: 

  • The Terriers would jump out to an early lead with Timothy Worster finding the back of the net off an assist from first year Kyle Van Doren-Crooker 

  • Connor Hamilton would score an unassisted goal just one minute later to give the Terriers a 2-0 lead 

  • The Vikings would score 2 goals in just under 2 minutes to tie the game at 2-2 

  • Van Doren-Crooker would close the first quarter with a last-minute goal to put the Terriers ahead 3-2 after one quarter of play 

  • The Vikings would take control in the second quarter, scoring 3 unanswered goals midway through the 2nd quarter 

  • Worster would put the Terriers back on the board late in the second quarter, putting the Terriers down 5-4 at the half 

  • Charlie Foster-Major would swing the momentum back to the Terriers, scoring just 4 minutes into the second half to tie the game at 5-5 

  • Hunter Simpson and Worster would combine for 3 goals in 4 minutes to put the Terriers up 8-6 

  • The Vikings would tie the game up late in the third, but Worster would give the Terriers a 9-8 off an assist from Tyler Roberge after 3 quarters of play 

  • Salem State would score four unanswered goals in the 4th quarter and would shut the Terriers offense down, to hand the Terriers a 12-9 loss
