Waterville, ME – A big second half from the University of Maine Farmington Beavers saw them prevail over the Terriers in the second annual Dick Meader Cup game, held against the two schools in their first matchup of the season. The post-game award ceremony saw the Meader family present the trophy to the players, as seen in the photo above.

How it Happened:
- The Beavers started the game on a tear, scoring seven straight points before the Terriers stormed back with 10 straight points thanks to Camryn Yorke and Jackson Ruelke to make it 10-7.
- With seven minutes remaining in the half the Terriers found themselves down seven points 18-25, after both teams traded scoring runs.
- Good free throws from Luke Briggs, a layup from Parker Desjardins, and a layup from Spencer Minihan helped the Terriers claw back to tie things at 27-27.
- The Beavers briefly took back the lead minutes later, but the Terriers came back once again in the final three minutes of the half.
- The Terriers were able to capitalize on the momentum swing, ending the half on a positive note with a 41-39 lead.
- In the opening minutes of the second half the Terriers were able to preserve their lead thanks to several points from Yorke and Briggs.
- Eight minutes into the second half the Beavers took the lead 58-57 and didn't look back.
- They were able to consistently get points from a variety of different players to eventually expand their lead to six points with under nine minutes to play.
- With six minutes remaining in the game the Beavers went on a 9-2 to take a 80-68 lead over the Terriers.
- Despite efforts from the Terriers to disrupt the flow of momentum, the Beavers continued to cruise and went on a 10-2 run to make it a 15-point lead with two minutes left.
- The Terriers eventually fell by a score of 91-73 but were able to take away some positives from the first half of action.
