Men’s Basketball Falls to Talented Keene State Squad

Williamstown, MA – Men's Basketball fell to a talented Keene State squad in day one of the Williams Purple & Gold Classic. The final score was 78-109 on Saturday, November 23rd, 2024.

How it Happened:
  • The Terriers opened up with a 9-6 lead over the Owls thanks to points from Camryn Yorke, Jackson Ruelke, and Luke Briggs.
  • The Owls then went on a 10-2 run to retake the lead 16-11.
  • This trend continued, as the Owls went on an 8-2 run minutes later to make it 29-18.
  • Both teams went back-and-forth with points with five minutes remaining in the half, but the Owls remained on top.
  • The Terriers ended the half well, with Briggs scoring five quick points to make it 43-62 at the break.
  • Despite the positive end to the first half the Owls came out strong early in the second, going on a 13-2 run to give them a 30-point lead.
  • The Terriers then responded with eight straight points, six of which coming from Parker Desjardins.
  • The Owls fought right back, scoring 15 straight points to make it 90-53.
  • With only 10 minutes left in the game the Terriers continued to work, with Yorke scoring four points in a span of a minute to make it 69-95.
  • Jacob Bouchard played a large role in the closing minutes, scoring seven points in a span of a few minutes. 
  • Despite the Terriers best efforts, they eventually fell 78-109 against a talented Keene State squad.
