Field Hockey Celebrates Senior Day in a Big Way, Winning 12-0 vs UMF

Waterville, ME – Field Hockey celebrated four Seniors Avery Herrick, Molly Littlefield, Julia Reny, and Elise Syphers in their final home game of the 2024 season vs University of Maine Farmington on Saturday, October 19th. The Terriers finished the game winning 12-0 over the Beavers. 
 
Inside the Stats: 
Thomas College: Overall (9-6)
University of Maine Farmington (0-12) 
 
How it Happened: 
  • The Terriers did not take long to get on the board as Reny scored the first goal of the game just over three minutes in. 
  • Shortly after Samantha Thebarge scored off a penalty corner, assisted by Reny.
  • Leah Knight added to the score not even a minute later, she was assisted by Paige Gibert.
  • Reny and Thebarge would swap places, as right before the end of the quarter Reny scored for the second time, and was assisted by Thebarge. 
  • In the second quarter Reny and Tatiana Roque scored bringing the score to six nothing at halftime. 
  • The score made its way to 9-0 in the third quarter, Reny scored two goals both off penalty corners. Knight also scored her second goal of the game on a penalty corner. 
  • Thebarge and Reny would add to the score in the fourth quarter bringing it to 11-0 within the final minutes. 
  • Senior Herrick, would then score off the final penalty corner of the game just after time expired, making the final score 12-0.
 
Inside the Stats: 
  • The Terriers out-shot the Beavers 49-4 and out cornered them 37-0.
  • Reny would end the game with 14 points (6 goals and two assists).
  • Thebarge would end with four assists and two goals.
  • Syphers would play the first half having zero shots attempted against her.
  • Mackenzie Toner went in at halftime and would make three saves.  
 
What's Next:
The Terriers will head to Husson University on Sunday, October 27th for their final regular season game of the year. The game is scheduled to start at 1pm.
